Yoga Teacher Mentorship

Yoga Teacher Mentorship

Teach from the depths of your own practice.

For over 15 years I have supported yoga teachers to find their teaching voice, ground in authentic lineage of self-study, build confidence, and develop expressive movement and breath.

The most common things I hear when I first begin working with my mentees:

“I can’t get past my impostor syndrome”

“How do I sequence a class?”

“I feel like I just don’t have enough experience teaching in front of people.”

“I’m not sure how to work with different abilities or injuries in a group class.”

“I struggle with designing a class that flows well and feels good for every body.”

“How am I supposed to teach a posture I can’t even do myself?”

“I’m teaching yoga, but don’t feel like I have time to practice it myself.”

“I’m scared to cue some postures because of safety and the wide range of abilities in my classes.”

“I don’t know what my own authentic teaching voice is supposed to sound like.”

“I sometimes feel overwhelmed when prepping and then teaching, just thinking about everything I need to do and remember.”

Many teachers graduate training knowing how to cue a room, but still feel a strong sense of impostor syndrome. True teaching confidence comes from anchoring your voice and approach in your own self-study and practice.

Teaching yoga is a lifelong practice in and of itself. The completion of a teacher training program is not the end of learning—it is the beginning of a deeper relationship with the practice.

You don’t need to take another teacher training…maybe you just need the right mentor.

Yoga Teacher Mentorship
What are key pillars to my mentorship?

Authenticity.

Rooting in personal practice (sadhana).

Self-study and reflection (svadhyaya).

Building a personal relationship to movement, breath, and mindfulness.

Pedagogy of voice and effective teaching strategies.

Translating internal somatic sensations into clear and confident verbal cues.

Movement and Breathwork grounded in tradition and supported my modern science.

Holding space.

Together, we’ll explore your goals along with:

  • staying connected to your reasons for teaching

  • navigating uncertainty and self-doubt

  • creating thoughtful sequences

  • offering meaningful instruction

  • maintaining a personal practice

  • continuing to learn and evolve

  • cultivating steadiness as a teacher

  • developing your teaching voice

  • adapting practices for different students

  • bringing philosophy into teaching in an authentic way

  • seeing students clearly

  • creating trust and connection

  • responding skillfully to challenges

  • understanding the responsibility of teaching

  • developing presence and awareness as a guide

Our work together might include:

  • conversations about teaching experiences

  • reflection on your personal practice

  • feedback on class structure or sequencing

  • exploring challenges with students

  • deepening your understanding of yoga philosophy

  • clarifying the kind of teacher you want to become

My mentorship is not about collecting more information or focusing solely on business and marketing.

It shouldn’t feel like another yoga teacher training. This is exactly why I prefer working with my mentees one-on-one instead of in a group setting with a fixed curriculum.

Our mentorship meetings offer a space for reflection, conversation, and guidance as you continue integrating what you already know and growing into the teacher you are becoming.

Your first mentorship session includes a free consultation. No commitment is necessary.

What does your first session look like?
  1. Book through my online schedule.

  2. We’ll meet on Zoom.

  3. The first 15 minutes is your free consultation. This gives us both time to discuss your goals, my methods, and to see if we are a good fit.

  4. Ready to dive a bit deeper? We continue with the remainder of our booked session.

  5. If after our 15-minute consultation you need a bit of time to reflect and see if you would like to continue then we stop there and I invite you to book again when and if you feel ready.

"Working with Emily as a mentor has been one of the most valuable parts of my development as a yoga teacher. Beyond practical guidance with sequencing and teaching, she created space for thoughtful reflection on my own practice and the kind of teacher I want to become. Her questions encouraged me to think more deeply, and her feedback was always grounded and compassionate. I left each session with a deeper appreciation for the traditions that continue to shape my teaching."
